Do you want to feel supported by others that may be experiencing similar issues?
Being part of group can help by sharing information and feeling like you are not alone.
What is Group Therapy?
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a collection of individuals, working on similar issues, meet to share and process concerns and solutions. Typically, at least one licensed therapist facilitates the group sessions. Groups can be as small as 3-4 people and as large as 8-12 people depending on the location and the topic.
How is Group Therapy Beneficial?
This process can be beneficial in a number of ways.
First, clients can receive professional guidance, as well as peer support from others dealing with comparable struggles.
Second, individuals can learn to give and receive support, feel empowered, and begin to understand that they are not alone in dealing with certain issues.
Group therapy can also be a cost-effective way to receive treatment, as group session rates are lower than individual session rates.
