My therapeutic approach is informed by Person-Centered therapy, acceptance and nonjudgement are the cornerstones of this work. I also combine various theoretical modalities in order to meet each client’s individual needs, which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and more.
My background includes working with children (10+), teens, adolescents, adults and couples. I have a special interest in working with anxiety, depression, boundaries in relationships, social pressure, self-esteem, and conflict resolution.
In addition to individual counseling, I also offer both couples counseling and pre marriage counseling. I work from an empirical model of Gottman Couples Therapy. This approach uses proven methods that help couples increase empathy and connection, promote effective communication, thrive during conflict, and build caring behaviors and rituals. Pre marriage counseling can help build a strong foundation for a healthy marriage, address any existing issues, and increase communication and problem-solving skills.
I am a bilingual therapist and have a strong background working with Russian speaking clients that face challenges related to acculturation, identity development, and starting over. I can provide therapy in Russian if needed.
