About Melissa, Owner & Therapist
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
I’ve had the privilege of working as a therapist in the Katy area since 2007, and I’ve been an LPC-Supervisor since 2012. Cheri Locke and I founded the Counseling Center at Cinco Ranch in 2019 and are continually striving to serve the needs of Katy and the surrounding communities.
Who I see:
Over the past 17 years, I had been helping teens and families navigate some of life’s toughest challenges. Whether it’s tackling school stress, resolving family conflicts, building self-esteem, or managing anxiety and depression, I’m here to help you work through it. I also have experience with high-risk behaviors, substance use, and crisis intervention.
Coaching young adults who are about to graduate high school, are attending college, trying to figure out a career path, or who are just “stuck” without a clear path is a passion as well.
I also work with women on building confidence, setting healthy boundaries, and rediscovering who they truly are in the midst of life’s transitions.
My Counseling Approach
My approach is all about YOU—client-centered therapy that’s tailored to your unique needs. We’ll work together to set personalized goals that help you achieve the change you’re looking for. I often incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Counseling techniques, but I’m also trained in EMDR, which is a powerful, evidence-based approach for addressing trauma, deep anxiety, and depression.
About My Work
Supervision
One of the things I love most about my work is mentoring new therapists. At the Counseling Center at Cinco Ranch, I have the joy of supervising LPC Associates and graduate students. Watching young professionals grow in their confidence and ability to support clients is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. It’s a privilege to be part of their journey as they develop into skilled therapists themselves.
More about Me
I am a married mom of three children: two teen girls, and a 9 year old boy, all of which have helped me grow into the therapist I am today. Proud Aggie (Class of ’04, WHOOP!). When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me hunting for vintage treasures—I’m an avid thrifter who loves giving new life to unique finds.
Let’s connect and explore how therapy can help you build the life you deserve!
