Who Am I?

Hey there! I’m César, a practicum student that has years of experience working in the mental health field. My introduction to therapy started at a young age, as a client myself. From there, my curiosity into the world of mental health transformed into my life’s passion of helping others. I am a person who strongly believes in the power that counseling and prioritizing our mental health can have on the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us. I am here to provide a safe space for anyone seeking guidance through life’s many obstacles.

My Background

Being fluent in Spanish, I can help minimize the language barrier that may be preventing some from seeking the support they need and deserve. As a former crisis line specialist, I have extensive experience in helping those struggling with suicidal ideation, abuse, addiction, self-harm and other mental health crises. I have always believed that the daily emotions and feelings we deal with are like children… you can’t let them drive the car, but you cannot shove them in the trunk either.

Therapeutic Approach

Through my experience answering thousands of calls on the national suicide hotline, I know that an overwhelming number of people lack a genuine, warm space to be able to process their thoughts, feelings, and hardships. I seek to help my clients make sense of the challenges they are facing, find ways to overcome them and move on even stronger than before. I apply my cognitive-behavioral and person-centered techniques to support my clients in cultivating healthy coping skills, gain insight into thinking patterns and actions, and improve quality of relationships. As your therapist, my goal is to help you find the tools to live your life with peace of mind and look on to the future with enthusiasm and hope. I look forward to working with you!
